BAP Image Systems GmbH (BAPis) was incorporated in year 2000, for the specialized
business of high-speed color and grayscale data capture and processing. This hardware and
software technology has been used in a variety of mechanical transporters and scanners.
The applications are adapted for solutions in medical, industrial, financial and government domains.
BAPis is due to its long experience one of the best and most qualified technology
supplier of electronics for color and grayscale cameras, basing on high-speed CCD and CIS
sensors, as well as area sensors. In addition BAPis develops and produces embedded image
processing devices, basing on DSP and FPGA with own algorithms. The camera together with
image processing can reach the highest throughput on market at present. Furthermore BAPis
customizes firmware due to customer requests and develops device drivers and interfaces
for application programs.
The hard- and software solutions are a substantial part of high-speed standard and book scanners,
which open a new world of application possibilities.
The image processing algorithms are also components from the BAPis file converter K2-Box. The
images, even from a medical domain or CR2, can be compressed lossy and lossless in JPEG,
JPEG2000, or converted into PDF, PDF/A, and DICOM format.
The K2Box is a useful tool in all cases where a huge number of images need to be converted into
other formats and/or archived. Examples for that are life sciences with its DICOM images in radiology
or libraries, image data bases etc.
BAPis has numerous applications for high-speed standard and book scanners in the USA, Japan, and
Germany, as well as in automation industry.
