The K2M converter translates input
images, BMP, JPEG or DICOM files to the JPEG2000 with DICOM frame
format. It is a stand-alone device connected to the host via USB2.0
interface.
K2M accepts 8, 12 and 16 bits grayscale and color images, what is used to be the
standard in the medical industry. Both hardware and software are based on
cutting-edge technology. K2M
accelerates the compression time and delivers images with superior quality.
Embedded systems based on DSP,
FPGA and ASIC technologies are used in the medical industry for processing the images
from CT, MR, CR and other devices.
The K2M is compliant with JPEG2000
specifications ISO/IEC 15444-1 and 15444-6.
This device reduces the file size of
the medical images, PACS archive systems and supports the practical telemedicine.
Compression time depends on the
size of the image and compression ratio. For example, a 512x512, 16bits grayscale
image can be compressed during 150ms.
