Best-in-class video source solutions

You want to image objects in high-speed motion? With maximum resolution, highest light sensitivity and lowest geometrical distortions? Then you definitely need a line camera. Ours are best-in-class.

Where line camera-based solutions beat area cameras
Every image capture or inspection system requires a video source. While area/surface types of cameras are great for imaging immovable or slowly moving objects, line cameras and linear contact sensors are the best solutions for imaging objects moving at high-speed.

Line camera-based solutions also surpass area cameras in terms of maximum resolution, better light sensitivity and lower geometrical distortion. An example of this is a series production book scanner built on the basis of a BAPIS line camera that delivers 24”x 36” scans in 400 DPI. That yields the astonishing amount of 138 megapixels per image – that fast and in high quality.

For the greatest field depth
Compared to linear contact image sensors, CCD and CMOS line cameras show their strength when very large field depth is required (objects of different thicknesses and structures) or when a physical distance between the captured objects and the imaging unit is a must.

Unrivaled image quality at high capture speeds

We build innovative line cameras based on CCD and CMOS photosensitive sensors.

Over 20 years of expertise enable us to build innovative and state-of-the-art line cameras based on CCD and CMOS photosensitive sensors. We have a large portfolio of cameras available from stock and will gladly assist you in selecting the model that best suits your needs, considering costs, performance and features. It’s also possible to develop your own customized camera based on BAPIS experience and your own specific requirements.

Tri-linear RGB cameras for highest accurancy: BAPIS specializes in true tri-linear RGB cameras – not requiring pixel color reconstruction techniques and therefore more accurate in fine details compared with competitive solutions using Bayer-matrix sensors. Solutions involving de-Bayering, however, are not a secret to us either and are also to be found in our portfolio.

Best-in-class CCD and CMOS line cameras: the CCD and CMOS line cameras offered by BAPIS not only belong to the fastest in their class but also offer unbeatable quality – with low noise, multiple image enhancement features already at camera level, LED illumination spectrum compensation and an entire processing path based on 36 bits per pixel in color.

Video interfaces for transfer rates up to 50 Gbps: the BAPIS line cameras can be equipped with various video interfaces. There’s a widely adopted camera link standard available in base, medium and full variants. With higher performance and lower cabling costs, BAPIS also offers a native G-link standard. Finally, the highest performance BAPIS cameras are equipped with a quad CoaXPress 12.5 interface offering an astonishing video transfer rate of 50 Gbps.

Innovative additional features at camera level: these include advanced flat field correction, sensor response curve linearization (with separate modes for rendering crisp text or high-fidelity photographic tones reproduction); color-correction matrices allowing the compensation of imperfections of the LED light illumination spectrum; color space conversion and many more – already available at camera level, with zero time penalty.
