What an industrial controller is
An industrial controller is a system which reacts to various sensor readings by driving actuators to make an industrial process possible and safe. A typical example would be an industrial controller which moves objects on a conveyor belt by driving motors and sorts out damaged objects – based on a signal from a vision subsystem and stops the motor moving the conveyor belt in case of a detected security risk.
Over two decades of experience
We’ve been building and programming industrial controllers for over two decades now, gaining experience in multiple environments and familiarizing ourselves with various architectures. Our current expertise allows us to choose and develop the best control technology to fulfill our customers‘ requirements while conforming to a target budget. The careful selection of the components and our constant contact with integrated circuit vendors, allow us to design devices with life cycles reaching up to 12 years, depending on the model.
Applications of our industrial controllers
BAPIS industrial controllers find application in high-speed paper document archiving and recognition systems, in automated election systems, in industrial inspection setups and in many other areas.
BAPIS industrial controllers are equipped with large integration scale programmable logic circuits, either in the form of a standalone FPGA or a hybrid system-on-chip logic. This allows our devices to react immediately, independent of the main processing unit program flow.
The unique architectural advantage of BAPIS of industrial controllers
Our higher-end family of industrial controllers has a unique architectural advantage over competitors. These industrial controllers are equipped with large integration scale programmable logic circuits, either in the form of a standalone FPGA or a hybrid system-on-chip logic.
Our devices are thus able to react immediately, independent of the main processing unit program flow. The system is able to make time-critical decisions without any delay – at the exact moment of a triggering event. This assures both operational safety and enhanced performance.
BAPIS offers two cooperation models for industrial controller design
We have experience in replacing end-of-life industrial controllers from other vendors with modernized versions – compatible with an existing environment and a current industrial process logic.
